A Message from Mayor Shawn Pfaff
Happy Spring!
I hope that your spring planting is going well and that you’re looking forward to summer as much as I am.
As I begin my second term as your Mayor, I have made making Fitchburg an even better-connected community my main goal for the next two years. I have directed city department heads to work together with community and business and religious and non-profit organizational leaders to connect city government with residents in all parts of our city. An example of this is occurring along our North Fish Hatchery Road corridor where we are undergoing significant reinvestment by working collaboratively together. Last year, the city put in the extension of Post and Index Roads, which led to the private sector investing nearly $40 million in a new housing campus that is focused toward attracting many working professionals that move to Dane County daily. Another example has many of our churches and non-profit organizations working with each other to create an essential needs pantry to help some of the most vulnerable in our community with much needed assistance during these still difficult economic times.
Lastly, Fitchburg is taking another tangible step of becoming a better connected community when we will be opening our new Splash Pad in McKee Farms Park this summer. Soon children and families will be able to enjoy this wonderful community amenity during our hot summer days. This, along with our library and reinvestment along our Fish Hatchery Road corridor, demonstrate that Fitchburg is becoming an even better connected community to live, work, raise a family and retire every day.
If you have any questions, or if I can be of assistance, please contact me via my assistant Marcie at 270-4213 or at marcie.rekowski@city.fitchburg.wi.us
Sincerely,
Shawn Pfaff, Mayor
